Our multi source fiber system combines soluble and insoluble fibers to maintain health in the lower gastrointestinal tract. Soluble fibers such as oats, barley, and certain vegetables help slow digestion and increase absorption of nutrients. Insoluble fibers such as certain vegetables and brown rice help reduce constipation by easing passage through the body.

While fiber is not considered an essential nutrient in the diets of dog, dogs do benefit from improved colon health by eating a diet containing fiber. Bacteria in the intestine break apart the fiber into short-chain fatty acids. These acids provide energy to the cells lining the intestine which require a high amount of energy to function properly. The fatty acids also help the colon cells to recover from injury and possibly help reduce the risk of colon cancer.
